IMPLICATION (Quantify impact)
- 4 questions about consequences, costs, ripple effects

NEED-PAYOFF (Envision solution)
- 3 questions about ideal outcomes, what success looks like

Rules:
- Make questions conversational, not interrogation-style
- Each question should feel natural to ask
- Include follow-up prompts for each question
- Avoid yes/no questions

7. "What's the most frustrating part of your current setup?"
   → Follow-up: "Have you tried to fix that before?"

8. "If your SDRs could get 3 hours back every day, what would they do with it?"
   → Follow-up: "Why aren't they doing that now?"

**IMPLICATION QUESTIONS**

9. "When outbound slows down, what happens to the rest of the pipeline?"
   → Follow-up: "How does that affect forecasting?"

10. "What does a missed quota month cost the company—not just in revenue, but in morale, hiring, etc.?"
    → Follow-up: "Has that happened recently?"

11. "If this problem doesn't get solved in the next 6 months, what's the impact?"
    → Follow-up: "Who feels that pain the most?"

12. "How does leadership view the current situation?"
    → Follow-up: "Is there pressure to change things?"

**NEED-PAYOFF QUESTIONS**

13. "If you could wave a magic wand, what would your ideal outbound process look like?"
    → Follow-up: "What's stopping you from getting there?"

14. "If you had 50 more qualified leads per month, how would that change things?"
    → Follow-up: "Would your team be able to handle that volume?"

15. "What would success look like 6 months from now?"
    → Follow-up: "How would you measure that?"

Discovery Frameworks

SPIN Selling

Situation → Problem → Implication → Need-Payoff. Best for consultative sales.

MEDDIC

Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion. Best for enterprise.

BANT

Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline. Classic but can feel transactional. Use carefully.

Gap Selling

Current State → Future State → Gap. Focus on the distance between where they are and where they want to be.
